DC rowhouses and condos are their own category

Washington is the only part of our service area that is not Virginia, and the building stock reflects a completely different history. Rowhouses, converted flats, and condo buildings dominate, and almost none of them were built with central air in mind.

In a typical DC rowhouse, the system was added long after the house was built, which means the ductwork had to be threaded through closets, dropped ceilings, and chases carved out of existing structure. Runs are short but awkward, access panels are often in inconvenient places, and sometimes the only way to reach a section is from a neighboring room.

Condo units bring the building into it. Depending on how the building is set up, part of your air path may be shared infrastructure that we cannot touch without building approval. We will tell you where that line falls before you commit to anything.

Parking and access matter here in a way they do not in the suburbs. We plan for it so the crew is not circling the block with equipment.
