Air Duct Cleaning Process

Our air duct cleaning process can be split into three primary steps each with a few simple smaller steps.

  • Preparation

    • As a precaution, we first cover anything near your vents with plastic.
    • On the floor directly below each register and grille we lay a protective cloth where we can place your register and our tools without dirtying your carpet.
    • Remove each register and grille, placing them on the protective cloth mentioned above
    • Check the durability of your duct to determine how many psi can be used without compromising the strength of your hvac system
  • Cleaning

    • Wash the registers and grilles by hand or, if they are very dirty, take them outside for heavier cleaning
    • Use the Scorpion air whip system in conjunction with our negative air machine to simultaneously dislodge and capture all the debris in your air movement system
    • Clean all accessible FAU (Forced Air Units) components (blower, heat exchanger, evaporator, plenums)
    • Clean the ductwork from the plenums outward to get any debris which couldn’t be reached in cleaning step 2
  • Wrap Up

    • Reinstall all registers and grilles
    • Remove protective floor cloth and plastic
    • Ensure we have left no mess behind in your home or business
    • Inform you that we have completed as well as anything noteworthy or concerning regarding your HVAC system

Dryer

Dryer Duct Cleaning

Do you really need to maintain your air ducts?

Dryer duct cleaning prevents dangerous levels of build up and greatly reduces the risk of a fire. Dryer vents should be cleaned by a professional specializing in cleaning dryer ducts. These professionals have the proper training and tools to properly reach deep into the dryers duct work in order to clean all the lint and debris build up of that occurs along the inside of the dryer duct.

  • Is Your Dryer Putting Your Home at Risk? If you meet one or more of the below criteria we highly recommend having your system inspected as soon as possible.
  • When was your dryer duct work last cleaned or inspected? If your dryer duct has not been inspected and cleaned in over a year, it can become clogged and/or crushed, causing lint to build up.
  • Is your dryer duct length is greater than 25 feet? This actually slows the airflow. Many newer homes often are designed with the laundry room away from an exterior wall. For example, in a closet in a hallway. While this is a convenient placement for the homeowner it can be a potential hazard. With this setup the vents run greater distances with more turns, which makes your dryer work harder and creates more places for lint to collect. Add five feet for each 90-degree bend when calculating your duct length.
  • Do you have a large family and use the dryer often?
  • Does your dryer has flexible plastic or vinyl ducts? It’s inexpensive, but plastic duct work is no longer code-approved.
  • Does your dryer have a thin, flexible foil duct? These can kink and stop air flow. We highly recommend using solid metal tubing at least four inches in diameter for better airflow, but we can clean any setup you currently have.

Allowing your dryers duct to become clogged greatly increases your fire hazard risk! Eliminate that risk today by having one of our professional dryer duct cleaning Technicians service your dryer duct.

Dangers of a clogged dryer duct

One of the most used appliances in a home is your dryer, but it is also the most forgotten when it comes to maintenance. Most people honestly don’t even know that a dryer needs maintenance. It isn’t as simple as just removing the lint from the lint trap. While yes, that is also necessary, it is important to clean the areas that you can’t see or easily get to. That is where our dryer duct cleaning Technicians come in. Dust, debris and even chemical residue can build up in your unseen ducts and become a highly flammable danger in your home without you even knowing.

According to a report by the U.S. Fire Administration, clothes dryers are responsible for approximately 15,500 structure fires in our country every year. A staggering 80% of these fires start with a clogged dryer duct! Sadly, these have resulted in up to 15 deaths and 400 injuries a year. Thousands of other homeowners and/or occupants are treated for symptoms of poisonous gas fumes, also caused by a blocked dryer duct.

Dryer fires usually start after a the lint has built up in the dryer duct to a point where the airflow is restricted causing the motor to overheat and ignite the highly flammable lint throughout your dryer ducts. Any airflow pushes the fire through the duct causing the fire to spread. Like wind on a wildfire. Depending on how the dryer duct is constructed through the house it’s not uncommon for the fire to spread through the walls of the house causing catastrophic property damage, personal injury and possibly loss of life.

Cleaning your lint trap every 2 – 3 loads is great practice, but unfortunately it’s not enough to prevent lint clogging up the vent. Keeping the dryer vent cleaned is essential to the performance and safety of the dryer. Our skilled Virginia , Washington DC , Maryland dryer duct Technicians can help you get your dryer running safely.

Electronic Air Filter BUILD IN-DUCT

Our Best Defense

Indoor air circulates through a home’s return air ducts, into the heating/cooling system, then back into the home’s living areas. It is full of tiny particles from both natural and manmade sources such as pollen, dander, mold, tobacco smoke, exhaust and select viruses and bacteria. The largest of these particles settle on interior surfaces and appear as dust. Smaller particles also settle, but become airborneagain with the slightest disturbance. Our best defense – the electronic air purifier and now return air purifier – provides you twodistinct choices for including this important technology in your home.

Why Electronic Filter?

As part of a strategy for slowing the spread of infectious disease in your home, the Infinity air purifier should be considered essential. Featuring our patented Captures & Kills® technology, the Infinity air purifier offers proven, third-party tested effectiveness with a 99% inactivation of select captured viruses and germs when used as instructed,1 including:

  • Coronavirus
  • Common cold surrogate
  • Bacteria that causes strep throat
  • Human influenza

Here’s How it Works

The ionized particles are pulled toward an oppositely charged, pleated MERV 15 rated filter and captured

at an extremely high rate, similar to how a magnet attracts metal shavings.

Captured airborne microbes remain on the pleated filter instead of recirculating back into the home and are subjected to an intense electric field. There, 99% of select viruses and bacteria are inactivated

1 year Warranty

Air Electronic Filter Quickest and Easiest Installation on the Planet! You and your family will breathe easier knowing that the electronic filter 99% inactivation of select captured viruses and germs when used as instructed.

HVAC UV Light Air Sterilizer BUILT IN-DUCT

UNLEASHES THE POWER OF UV TO NEUTRALIZE MOLD, MILDEW, BACTERIA, GERMS AND OTHER ALLERGENS THAT SILENTLY LURK IN YOUR HVAC AIR HANDLING SYSTEM

In some homes, indoor comfort comes with side effects. When your central air conditioning or heating system is in use, allergies, headaches and cold symptoms seem to worsen. Unfortunately, air conditioning coils are dark and damp which can provide the perfect environment for bacteria, fungi, and molds. Hence, by establishing a comfortable temperature, homeowners can unwittingly create unhealthy air. Our UVC light air cleaning system can help.

SpeedLight™ UVC HVAC lights are a remarkably effective means of stopping this bacterial growth. UV emits a germicidal frequency that penetrates the cell walls of detrimental microbes which permanently neutralizes any ill effects. And better health isn’t the sole benefit. Reducing mold and other microbes will improve the HVAC system efficiency and will save money on operating costs.

SpeedLight HVAC UV Air Purifier Inside Installation

The 36-watt double lamp system emits UV light at 253.7 nanometers – the optimum light frequency in combating the bacteria that commonly infest air conditioners. The UV light system has been designed to give you complete peace of mind. Germicidal UV-C applied to your central air system is a safe, economical, chemical-free way to significantly reduce airborne contaminants. Each UVC light system is covered by a one (1) year warranty.

Leaks Repair

The ductwork in a building allows conditioned air to travel through it and assists in controlling airflow and temperature. If the ducts leak, the building will lose the conditioned air before it reaches the intended destination, costing money and energy and resulting in inconsistent temperature

What is Furnace Cleaning?

Furnace cleaning involves only the individual components of the furnace itself—like the heat exchanger, the blower motor, the combustion chamber, burners, fan, etc. These are typically cleaned with the combination of high-pressured air and an industrial vacuum. Some of the heavy-lifting furnace parts, like the evaporator coil, often require a more specialized cleaning for an additional cost.

A quality cleaning minimizes debris in the unit and improves air flow, increasing energy efficiency. It will also reduce the number of contaminants and particles entering your air ducts only to recirculate throughout the system. Furnace cleaning typically does not include cleaning of the ductwork and vents associated with the furnace.

  1.  CLEAN FLAME SENSOR
  2. VACUUM THE FURNACE WITH COMPRESSOR AIR, WIVES AND STEAM CLEANER
  3.  CLEAN THE BLOWER WHEEL (Most blower wheels need to be pulled and cleaned every 1-2 years, depending on usage and the home. A dirty blower wheel can negatively affect the airflow in your HVAC unit, causing your heat exchanger to overheat and AC coils to freeze. It will also reduce the efficiency of your blower motor and your entire system.

What Causes a Duct Leak?

How do you know you might have a problem with leaky ductwork? Keep an eye out for the following signs:
     • Unexpected and unexplainable increases in heating or cooling bills.

     • Increased airborne dust and other particles in the building.

     • Reduced ability to regulate temperatures in certain rooms.

     • Increased stuffiness in some rooms and an inability to keep a stable temperature.

If you’re experiencing any of the above challenges, you may have leaking air ducts. There are several reasons why your ducts could be leaking, including the following:
    • Settled foundation: If a building’s foundation settles, the duct system will shift and cause damage to the seams, creating gaps that leak air.

    • Advanced age: As your system ages, it suffers normal wear and tear, which impedes its effectiveness. This wear and tear can cause the duct system’s seals to deteriorate and its joints to weaken.

   • Detached or loose ductwork: Duct segments should all fit together. Wear and tear or other damage can cause the segments to loosen, causing most of the air to escape.

   • Unbalanced pressure: Air pressure should be uniform throughout your system, as an imbalance can force air through the joints and lead to weaknesses in the system.

   • Damaged seals: Seals play an essential role in making ductwork efficient. The connections at each section of ductwork must be sealed with specialized products. If these seals are damaged, conditioned air will leak out of the joints.

   • Unwanted pests: Rodents, squirrels and other pests love to make their home in a building’s duct system. As they move around, they can loosen seals and detach joints.

Benefits of Cleaning Your AC Unit

Once you inspected and cleaned everything you’ll notice more benefits from your cooling system, such as

• Durability: Cleaning your air conditioner from dust, dirt, and debris prolongs its lifespan. Well-kept ACs last longer and require fewer repairs.

• Cost-Efficiency: Ac lean air conditioner saves you more money with fewer repair or maintenance appointments. It also uses less energy, lowering monthly energy bills.

• Energy-Efficiency: Contaminants can trap inside the air conditioning unit, forcing it to work harder to maintain home comfort. Cleaning it allows optimal performance without using more electricity to cool the home.

• Risk Management: Evaporator and condenser coils transfer heat to cool air which can ignite a fire if neglected. It can also emit air pollutants, like mold, pest dander, dirt, around the home. Cleaning the air conditioner not only avoids these issues, but it also imrpoves indoor air quality. The best way to keep your condenser coils clean is with a hose, spray, and coil cleaner. ONCE EVERY YEAR .
